Rita L. Winwood age 84, of Belding, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Mission Point of Greenville. She was born January 25, 1938 in Piggott, Arkansas, the daughter of Jessie & Harriett (Spicer) Baxter. She was a member of the Greenville East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Rita was a very quiet but caring person, and her family knew from her eyes and facial expressions her thoughts on matters! She loved tending her flower garden at home and was talented at southern-style cooking and sewing. Rita also had a love of dancing, could perform several dance steps, and taught her daughters how to dance.

Rita is survived by her husband Robert; daughters Robin (Harry) McQuay of Greenville and Sandra Pinckney of Greenville; son Paul (Shaun) Winwood of Lansing; and brothers Bill (Faye) Baxter of Greenville, Ken (Barb) Baxter of Grand Rapids and Tony (Thea) Baxter of Pocahontas, Arkansas; sister Clara (Everett) Macomber of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law Alan (Linda) Winwood of Spring Creek, Nevada; sisters-in law Neva Sherman of Fredonia, Pennsylvania, Shirley Boorech of Knox, Pennsylvania and Joan (Fred) Bowers of Greenville; her grandson Ethan McQuay of Greenville; and beloved friend Jane Marlin of Englewood, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Carl Baxter, father-in-law Ronald Winwood, brother-in-law Ken Winwood and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Crouser and Kate Rugh.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Mission Point in Greenville for taking such good care of her the past few years. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The memorial service will be held via Zoom on 2 PM June 18, 2022.
