Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Aerni, 73, who died at 7 a. m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Kiuntke, will be held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at Gass chapel and at 2 p. m. at Evangelical Protestant church with Rev. M. L. Seybold, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery. Mrs. Aerni had been bedfast five weeks and had been in ill health for many years.
She was born May 20, 1870 in Switzerland daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Eggli, and in 1900 came to the United States directly to Platte County.
The latter part of the year 1900, she was married here to Joseph Schaecher, who preceded her in death. In 1913 she returned to Switzerland for several months visit and a short time after her return to to the States, was married in Pittsburgh to Frank Aerni. They then retruned to Columbus and Mrs. Aerni has lived here since.
She was a member of Evangelical Protestant church and of the church Ladies Aid Society.
Mr. Aerni died Jan. 17, 1942; a daughter Mrs. Alfred Mueller of Columbus in 1934. Mrs. Aerni is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter Kiuntke: one son, Hans Schacher of Columbus: six gandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Schacher of Pittsburgh and two who reside in Switzerland; and one brother, Paul Eggli of Genoa.
The body will lie in state at Gass funeral home from 4 p. m. to day until the hour of the services.
