The former Rose Marie Eipper was born June 9, 1917 in Coe Township, Port Byron, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Ada (Ashdown) Eipper. She married Donald M. Dunn on December 25, 1938 at the home of her parents. She worked for the Port Byron State Bank as the Secretary to the President, retiring in 1979 after 26 years. Rose Marie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Port Byron and of the Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and is a Past President of the Riverdale PTA.
She loved family events, playing cards, made beautiful embroidery, was a super pie baker and will be remembered for her wonderful tossed salads. She was blessed to reach her 100th birthday. A family dinner honoring her was celebrated on June 10th, followed by a church celebration the next day.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna (Richard) Vermeulen, Port Byron, Denise (Howard) Tyler, Davenport, Darcene (Dean) Sutton, East Moline; son-in-law, Larry Cole, Silvis; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and special nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Don in 1999; daughters, Darla Jill Dunn in infancy and Dianne Cole; sister, Mildred Murphy; and brothers, Ernest and Lawrence Eipper.
