Elijah Galbreath, 81, of Route 2, Vidalia, died Friday in the Meadows Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the New Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Edgar L. Galbreath, officiating. Interment was in the Galbreath Cemetery with Murchison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Steve Galbreath, Dale Galbreath, Earnest Galbreath, Jerry Roberson, Junior Roberson, Craig Galbreath.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Estelle St. John, Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Imogene Roberson, Savannah; three sons, Lloyd Galbreath, Reidsville, Johnnie G. Galbreath, Lake View, Iowa, and G.C. Galbreath, Lyons; one brother, J.T. Galbreath, Vidalia; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.
