Robert Nelson Dunbar, 71, of Clear Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

Robert will be remembered for his genuine smile; his friendliness, sense of humor, service to others and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. Robert was a long time member, minister, song leader, Sunday school teacher and jail ministry of the Spoken Word Tabernacle Church, Beaver. Robert was devoted to God, Gods work and to his family. He worked in the coal mines for 33 years. His favorite job was driving a bus for 5 years for Raleigh County Public Schools. Robert enjoyed reading about history, studying the bible and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph C. Dunbar (1917-1985) and Ora Jean Stover-Dunbar (1917-1975); brothers, Donald Dunbar (Deceased), Charles Dunbar (Deceased) and Henry E. Dunbar (1949-2014).

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Willa Jean Williams-Dunbar (B. 1947) whom he married on May 19, 1965 in Mount Hope, Fayette County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1965, Page 518, Application Date: May 10, 1965); two sons, Craig Dunbar & Vickie Dunbar and Matthew Dunbar; two daughters, Angela Dunbar-Wright & Mark Wright, Christina Dunbar-Matos & Miguel Matos; three brothers, Buford Dunbar, Dwight Dunbar and Lewis Dunbar; six sisters, Shirley Dunbar-Bryant, Barbara Dunbar-Maggard, Nora Dunbar-Owen, Connie Dunbar-Graley, Farris Dunbar-Stover and Jane Dunbar-Hodge; four grandchildren, Josh Wright, Patrick Wright (Jordan), Sarah and Major Dunbar.

Services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the church with Pastor Roy Shrewsbury officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
