HINDSBORO – Jessie Helen Douglas, 92, of Hindsboro died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 13, 1991) at her son’s residence in Hindsboro.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today at Taber Funeral Home, Oakland, with the Rev. Martin Gurzmer officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral today. Burial will be in Hugo Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 20, 1898, in Camargo, the daughter of Frank and Ida Barnett Vandeventer. She married Ray E. Douglas in 1916; he died in 1979.
Surviving are six sons, Don and Ned Douglas, both of Hindsboro, Glen Douglas of Phoenixville, Pa., Lawrence Douglas of Tuscola, Dale Douglas of Indianapolis and Rex Douglas of Villa Grove; four daughters, June Walters and Lorene Shea, both of Fort Collins, Colo., Dorothy Douglas of Champaign and Mary Francis Van Voorhis of Cooks Mills; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and two brothers

Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Hugo Methodist Church and the Hindsboro American Legion Auxiliary. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Lincoln Land.
