Mohawk--Mrs. Jennie Brackett, 63, a resident of Mohawk for nearly 50 years, wife of Jay Brackett, president, Ilion Hardware Company, Ilion, died in her home, 34 Washington Street, Monday afternoon, Aug. 13, 1934. She had been in ill health for 19 years. Mrs. Brackett was born in Town of German Flatts, just outside Mohawk, Sept. (illegible), 1870, daughter of Giles and Electa Jane Mason Walker. She moved to Mohawk with her family when 14 years old and was graduated from Mohawk High School in the class of 18(illegible), third class to be graduated from that school. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ilion. She and Mr. Brackett were married in 1898. She leaves her husband, a son Ernest Walker Brackett, Utica; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Brackett; three sisters, Mrs. Mary A. Hines and Mrs. Ella Swift, Mohawk; Mrs. Jessie Kelly, Ilion R. D.; a niece, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Kansas City.
