John peacefully left this world on July 18, 2006. He was 85 years old.
He was the Son of John Irvin Curtis and Irene Natalie Orrock. John was the youngest of Two Children.
He served as a missionary in the Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning home he enlisted in the Merchant Marines, serving his country during World War II. He went on to graduate from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Manufacturing. While at the university, he met his sweetheart, Janis. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 58 years together and raised seven children. John spent his life in the service of those he loved and served faithfully in various church callings. He had a tremendous love of learning, whether from the great books or about skills useful in helping others. He was an avid gardener and took pride in sharing the harvest. He will be remembered for his integrity and incredible work ethic. No matter the challenge, he faced it and never complained or gave up. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him
Funeral Services were held on Friday July 21, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Canyon Hollows Ward, 1550 Rushton, Ogden, Utah. Family and Friends joined together for Viewing of Thursday night at Lindquist Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington BLVD from 6-8 P.M.
Interment followed the funeral services at Lindquist Memorial Gardens Of The Wasatch.
