Janis Rae Amussen Falck Curtis, a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, left this life on Monday, October 7, 2013, at the age of 86. Janis was born on June 10, 1927, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Louis Kuni and Eleanora Amussen Falck. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Utah State University. While attending Utah State, she met her love and best friend, John Keith Curtis, and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 10, 1948. Together, they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage, supporting, teaching and nurturing seven children and twenty-six grandchildren.

Janis' life was spent in devotion to family and friends. She worked as a homemaker and was exceptionally talented in needlework and sewing. She retired after twenty-five years of employment at the IRS. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She is especially appreciated for delicious Sunday dinners, celebrated toffee, countless hours spent canning fruits and vegetables for family members, consistent encouragement of family traditions, a love of sports, a listening ear, a feisty sense of humor, a love of chocolate, and unwavering dedication to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Janis is survived by her children, Jackie Curtis, Judie (Monte) Wheeler, Janet (Norm) Newbold, J. Stephen (RaeLynn) Curtis, Jim (Brenda) Curtis, Jill (Darren) Adamson, and Jeff (Kristi) Curtis; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Louis Kuni Falck, Jr., and R. Michael Falck.
