FABER-Webster B. Hughes, 82, of Faber, died Tuesday, at Liberty House Nursing Home in Waynesboro. He was born in Nelson County on Aug. 24, 1898, a son of the late A. F. Hughes and Sally Napier Hughes.

He was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church and was retired from Crompton Co. Inc.-Shenandoah Plant. Mr. Hughes was an Army veteran of World War I and was a local registrar in Rockfish Valley District.

His wife was the late Lula M. Phillips.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Hickman and Sally Hughes, both of Roseland; three brothers, Richard Hughes of San Antonio, Texas, John W. Hughes Sr. of Nellysford and Bland M. Hughes of Faber; a sister, Mrs. B. C. Small Sr. of Nellysford; two grandsons and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Preston Parr Funeral Chapel in Roseland, conducted by the Rev. J. D. Farries. Interment will be in Rockfish Valley Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends today and tonight at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Andrew Hickman of Roseland.

Active pallbearers will be Gordon Hughes, Q. J. Wade Sr., Windom Henderson, Linwood Jack Hughes, Rudolph Small, Maxie Campbell, John W. Hughes Jr. and Worthy Thompson.
