The abbreviated newspaper obit for Allie from "The Sterling Standard" 10 Dec 1896;1;4. #48193722

Mrs. Allie Hewitt Grove, who has been sick for several weeks from a complication of disease, died last Friday at 10 o'clock a.m., at the home of her parents, the immediate cause of her death being obstruction of the gall bladder. During her long illness she was a most patient sufferer, never once did she murmur or rebel against the hand that laid so heavy an affliction on her, thus showing fortitude which only a christian and one supported by Divine love can possess.

Allie Hewitt was born in Montmorency, Aug. 4, 1868; was married Feb. 6, 1888 to Edward Grove, who survives her. She died Dec. 4, 1896. She has always lived in Montmorency, where she leaves a host of friends, besides her family to mourn her early death. She leaves, besides her husband, three children, Lester, Ida and Ruth, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Hewitt, and one sister, Mrs. John Murray.

The funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Montmorency church, which was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Carter, of the Presbyterian church in Sterling, assisted by Presiding Elder Clark, of Sterling, and Rev. Williams, of Harmon.
