BATESBURG - Evelyn Steele, 73, of 2188 Batesburg Hwy., died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Frank Mims officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Clark, Michael Davis, Lonnie Gulledge, Terry Warren, Little Red Miller and Brady Risinger.
Mrs. Steele was born in Batesburg to the late Irwin and Naomi Enlow Warren. She attended Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. And was married to the late Marvin "Pete" Steele and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her sons, John Earl Steele; William Steele; daughters, Linda Gulledge; Patricia Anderson all of Batesburg; Elaine Crapps; Darlene Miller both of Leesville; sister, Marie Swygert of Leesville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Corder; brothers, Ralph Warren; Irwin Warren.
