Marvin "Pete" Steele, 57, of Route 3, died Monday. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Eddie and Ethel Story Steele. He was a retired, textile employee and a member of Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Warren Steele; sons, John E. Steele of Batesburg and William Steele of Saluda; daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Linda) Gulledge, Mrs. Marvin (Joyce) Corder, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Anderson and Miss Darlene Steele of Batesburg and Mrs. Gene (Ellen) Crapps of Leesville; brothers, Eddie and Gene Steele of Leesville, John Steele of Batesburg, Harvell Steele of Graniteville, Dick Steele of Saluda and Henry Steele of Florida; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rice, Mrs. Mary Matthews and Mrs. Melba Hartley of Batesburg, Mrs. Mildred Murrah of Monetta, Mrs. Ellen M. Padgett of Saluda and Mrs. Barbara Day of Aiken; and grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Posey and the Rev. James Tollison. Pallbearers will be Billy and O'Wayne Goff, Lonnie Gulledge, Bill White, Roy Padgett and Larry Enlow. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is in charge.
