Shannon Lee Bennett
1986 - 2007
In adoring memory of Shannon Lee Bennett. A loving, sweet, good-spirited and strong young man. Shannon was born on December 18, 1986 in Bakersfield, California and died on February 11, 2007 at Cedars-Sanai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca. where he lost his three week battle with leukemia. Shannon was true to his faith to the end. He had a very unique and interesting personality. Shannon loved camping, fishing, and motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed learning about Asian culture and computers. After graduating from Foothill High School he started a plumbing business with his mother. Shannon is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Bennett, his grandmother, Gladys Bennett and his grandfather, James Hazelwood. He is survived by his mother, Laura Bennett, his grandmother, Savannah Hazelwood, and numerous aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his four sisters and their partners, Carrie and John Tishma, Tina and Scott Moreno, Kari and Randy Chavez, Brandi Williford and Beaver King. He also leaves behind his four Brothers and their partners Chuck and Lori Bennett, Billy and Roxanne Williford, Stephen and Reanna Williford, and Russell and Charlotte Williford. Shannon was also the uncle of 13 nephews and 9 nieces that were very dear to his heart. Jonathan Perrette was his best friend since childhood. They were inseparable. He had a large family and many friends that love him and will miss him, and his handsome smile. A special thank you to our family and all the friends that helped and supported Shannon and his family during this very difficult time. For any of you that were lucky enough to cross paths with Shannon you all know what a remarkable young man he was. He had the biggest smile that warmed your heart each time you seen him. Even in his last few days, he was more concerned about his family and friends worried about him than about his sickness. When asked "How are you feeling?" He always looked straight at you and said " I am feeling fine." That was Shannon, not a selfish thing about him. Shannon, you are the strongest young man I've known. You never once faltered in your beliefs and although we may not have seen things the same, I envy your faith. There are no words to sum up how fortunate I was to be your brother for those short 20 years. It is so hard to say goodbye when I can't believe your gone. Two years ago when we buried Dad I faced one of the most difficult days of my life. My Dad and my best friend were gone. I would have never thought I'd be saying goodbye to my little brother such a short time later. Rest well Shannon. I will think of you often, and I will love you forever. Chuck Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. in Bakersfield. Viewing will be February 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 17th at 12:00 noon in the chapel and graveside services will follow. Danny Longacre from the East congreation of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate. Shannon Lee Bennett Dec. 18, 1986 - Feb. 11, 2007
