David served in the U. S. Army in Korea just after the end of World War II, and after he returned married Mildred Walker in Lebanon, Missouri 1947. They had a son and three daughters -- Gloria, Paul, Diana, and Mary.
He worked for car dealerships for 26 years as a service manager and technician before being employed by Trans-World Airlines for a number of years in several locations. After taking early retirement from TWA, he and Mildred moved back to Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri.
He was a devout Christian and faithfully attended and supported his church wherever he lived. He also served briefly as a pastor.
David was buried at Dowty Cemetery (formerly Wair Chapple) with full military honors.
