Bertha Carter formally of Columbus died Thursday, March 17th in Ormond Beach, Florida. She was born August 12, 1923 in Marshall County, AL. She married James Carter of Columbus in 1944. They lived in Columbus until his death and her failing health required her moving to be near her daughter. She was a founding member of Epworth United Methodist Church of Columbus where she was an active member in all aspects. She was the owner of a Beauty Salon for many years. Her passions were quilting, sewing, needle work and family. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrel Cavedo of Holly Hill, Florida, two grandsons, James Cavedo of Ormond Beach, FL and Col. John Cavedo, Jr. of Carlisle, PA and five great grandchildren. The memorial service will be at Epworth Methodist Church on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 am.
