Joseph M. Cochran M.Sgt. USAF (Ret)
March 3, 1933 – March 17, 2017

Joe passed away March 17, 2017. He joined the Air Force in 1951 serving for 21 years as Radio operator on numerous aircraft from C-119 to the B-49 and then a Loadmaster on the C-133, enjoying duty stations in Asia, Europe, Great Britain and the U.S. retiring as Master Sargeant, out of Travis AFB in 1971. Joe was a decorated Korea War Veteran and a Vietnam Veteran. After Retiring from the Air Force, he was hired by Unocal in Rodeo California as an operator, retiring for good after 18 years.

He and Joni were active in the local Whippet club, and they raised some champion dogs. Later he and Joni would adopt the traveling lifestyle becoming full time RV’ers traveling throughout the US, Canada and Mexico, making many lifelong friends along the way. He always enjoyed a good story over wine and food, or during “Happy Hour”. He loved to travel, see new places and meet people. He supported the Paralyzed Veterans and would ask that any flowers or donations would go to them.

Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Mike) and Susan Cochran; daughter, Stacy Morris and daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Peter Fracchia; six grandchildren, Kelly Cochran, Alyssa Cochran, Brian Cochran, DeLisa Fracchia, Tami Jack and Jeremey Kinkade; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Cochran, Deven Jack and Lexi Jack, all of whom he adored; sisters, Rose Gordon, Joanne Paige and Kay Cade; brothers, Jack Cochran and Mickey Cochran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joni Cochran; parents, Esther and Walter (Babe) Cochran of Lovington Illinois; and brother, Jerry Cochran.

Joseph M. Cochran will be buried with full Military Honors at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California. He will be interred with his wife, Joni Cochran.
