Aloysious H. Koopman

Aloysious H. Koopman, 80, Le Mars, died Friday, Aug. 28, at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church with Rev. Dean Walker officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home.

Friends may call at Luedtke funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Al Koopman was born in Le Mars June 27, 1890. He married Kathryn Freking Jan. 14, 1914, in Le Mars. He farmed near Le Mars until 1958 when they retired and moved to Le Mars.

Survivors are his wife, Kathryn; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Schnepf of Le Mars and Mrs. Al Goerdt of Dyersville; six sons Delbert, Elwood, Wayne and Mark, all of Le Mars, Marcell of Kingsley and Leslie of Maurice; a brother, Emil of Le Mars; three sisters, Mrs. Mike Zenk of Alton, Mrs. Paul Waldschmidt of Remsen and Mrs. Henry Bortscheller of Gardenia, Calif.; 41 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
