He was born on June 21, 1929, in St. Johnsville, son of the late Silas Sr. and Fredrica Canfield Dingman. Bill was raised in St. Johnsville and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. He furthered his education at Derry University where he received a degree in electronics. An honrably discharged veteran of World War II he served with the US Merchant Marines. On February 5, 1945, he was united in marriage to Myra M. Wilcox Miller in Herkimer. They shared a devoted union of over twenty-eight years until her passing on January 19, 1974. In October of 1974, he marrried the former Beverly Kurdziolek in St. John’s Church, New Hartford, she preceded him in death on July 7, 2011. As a teenager he worked for the New York Central Railroad and later was a machinist for Burrough’s Paper Mill in Little Falls. He retired in 1994 after more than forty years of dedicated service. After his retirement he moved to Melbourne, FL and assisted his brother in his air conditioning business before moving Johnson City, TN. Mr. Dingman had a strong belief in God and was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls. In his leisure time he was active in various bowling leagues in Florida and was in a Poker League while living in Tennesee. Musically he enjoyed playing his guitar.
