Benny C. Bailey, 84, of Clearfield died at UPMC Altoona on April 10, 2017.

Born May 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Alvin B. and Ada Ruth (Dillen) Bailey.

On Aug. 21, 1953, he wed the former Caroline Smeal.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; brothers and sisters, Okla Belmont, Shirley Folmar, Glenn Bailey, Donald Bailey, David Bailey and Walter (Ave) Bailey; and son, Joey.

He is survived by brothers and sisters, Ray Bailey of Lockport, NY, Jim Bailey and his wife (Coleen) and Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Rougeux, all of Clearfield, and Dorothy McCracken of Lumber City.

Also surviving are children, Betsy Williams and her companion, Don Bowers of West Virginia, Gloria and Tuck Freyer of Kerr Addition, Mike and Cindy Bailey of Philipsburg, Bruce and Ruthann Bailey of Hanover, Tim and Tracy Bailey of Morrisdale, Diane Bailey of Bedford, Pa., Duane Bailey and his companion, Dixie Luzier of Hyde, Missy Aughenbaugh and her companion, Kevin Simcox of Clearfield and George Bailey and his wife, Audra of Curwensville and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He operated the Gulf Gas Station in Clearfield. He was also a social member of the VFW Post 1785 in Clearfield. Mr. Bailey loved dirt track racing.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Reed Funeral Home in Houtzdale is in charge of the arrangements.
