Roy Henry Roorda, 61, Pella, died Sept. 3 at the Americana Nursing Center in Des Moines.

He was born July 1, 1913, the son of Epp A. and Johanna Verhey Roorda.

He married the former Marie De Boef on June 22, 1938 at Oskaloosa. Following their marriage, they lived in Pella for four years where he worked at the Rolscreen Co.

In 1942 they moved to Des Moines where he worked as a finish cabinet-maker until January, 1974 when he retired prior to moving to Pella.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Pella at the time of his death.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Andrew, another brother who died during infancy, and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Toom.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 6 at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella with Rev. Frank Shearer officiating.

Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery and arrangements were made by the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.
