Thelma Mason, 75, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Mary’s Healthcare.
Born May 20, 1941 in New Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Mamie (Clark) Walker. Thelma graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1959 and earned her L.P.N. license from Ivy Tech in 1972.
Her marriage was to James Mason on October 3, 1959 in Lafayette. He survives.
Over the years, Thelma worked as a nurse with Cary Home for Boys, St. Anthony’s, and Westminster. She attended Evergreen Wesleyan Church and enjoyed ceramics, dancing, and her dogs. Thelma loved to bowl and was a member of the Eagles Misfits League, and was a huge Cubs fan.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Juanita May Emmons (husband: Mike) of Wisconsin, and Kimberly Pennington (husband: Mike) of Ohio; a sister, Maxine Gulvin of Veedersburg; a brother, Wesley Walker of Florida; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special friend, Helen Jones and her husband Bill, of Lafayette.
Preceding her in death with her parents is a daughter, Vicki Lynn Mason; three sisters, Elizabeth Hughes, Kathlean Schelly, and Judy Coddington; and three brothers, Albert, Junior, and Paul Walker
