Douglas Eugene Trostle, 73, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away Monday afternoon, March 20, 2017. Doug was born in Webb City on December 28, 1943, to William Emmitt and Corene Gertrude Trostle, the youngest of seven children.
Doug attended school in Tecumseh before making his passion his living becoming a diesel mechanic. If it had an engine, he could work on it. He and Rita Ann Thomas were married February 16, 1973, in Gainesville, Texas.
Doug enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, being a part of nature, watching birds and other various animals but, above all, he loved his family.
Doug is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita Trostle, of the home; his daughter, Marsha Bennett, of Grand Junction, Colorado; his son, William Trostle and wife Faye, of the home; his granddaughters, Lindsey Roundtree and husband Andrew, of Duncan, Shelby Trostle and Emily Trostle, of the home; his sisters, Pauline Kenton of Bartlesville, Francis Worz, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Helen New and husband Perry, of Choctaw; and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Trostle, of Duncan.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, William and Corene Trostle; his brothers, William E. Trostle, Jr. and Franklin Don Trostle; and his sister, Anna Hoover.
The family will have visitation on Friday, March 24, from 5-7 pm at Whitt Funeral Home. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st, at 1:00 PM at the First Christian Church with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that you send donations to Whitt Funeral Home or the Cancer Center in Duncan.
