Mary J. Durst, age 87, of Fort Gratiot died March 29, 2017 at Blue Water Hospice Home after a short illness. She was born April 15, 1929 in Deckerville and lived in the Port Huron area for most of her life. She married Oscar E. Durst on February 19, 1949 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2015. Mary was a member of Northgate Bible Church and enjoyed camping with her family. She also volunteered her time with the ARC of St. Clair County (Community Enterprises).
She is survived by a daughter, Sherrie (Duane) Wetzel, 2 grandchildren, Tina (Greg) Pieprzak, and Andy (Betsy) Wetzel, 5 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Claire, and Christopher Pieprzak and Stella and Sophia Wetzel. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Durst on April 14, 2012, and a grandson Dennis Wetzel.
A memorial service will take place at Northgate Bible Church at a later date.
