Mrs. Lizzie Bernritter died at her home southeast of Auburn Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 2 a.m. She was taken ill with the flu around Christmas and pneumonia developed, with complications which resulted in death.
Lizzie Hoffman was born in this county, near St. Marys, Feb. 21, 1888 where she spent her girlhood. She was married to Julius Bernritter Sept. 6, 1909. Three children were born to them and two are left to mourn with her husband: Cletis, aged 18 years and Inabell, aged 8. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Gertie Maurier of Topeka, Mrs. Clara McAfoose of Rexford, and Mrs. Elsie Sardarth of Osawatomie, and many other relatives and friends.
Short services were held at Greenwood cemetery in Kaw Thursday at 2:30 p.m., where her remains were laid at rest besides her father and mother.
