Born In Prairie the daughter of Needham Asa and Ida Jane Golding Oliver.

Growing up in Union Twsp. she met and married the love of her life James Luther Baxter on Oct. 5, 1917.

Miss Mernie and Mr. Jim as they were known raised the follwoing children:
James William "JW", Verser Clayton "Nig", Ella Jean Baxter Ferguson, Virginia Louise "Louise" Baxter Ricks, James Louis, Glen and Maxine Baxter Tipton.

Charles Cleveland, George Fredrick, Ethle Lee, Okla Jane Oliver Ray, William Homer (Homer William), Algernon Golding, Olen Jefferson, Ola Pluma Oliver Holden, Eunice Oliver Mayfield, Obidah (obe) and Guy.
