Artie M. Hughett, 90, of Robbins, passed away March 19, 2010, at her home. Born January 7, 1920, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Riley and Hattie Sexton; her husband, Carlie Hughett, Sr.; one son, Robert Lee Hughett; granddaughter, Kimberly Jeffers; brothers: John Riley Jr., L. C., Lloyd, J. D., and Floyd; sisters: Hazel Mills, Shirley Hammock, and two infants, Mary and Betty; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Hughett. She is survived by her children: Billy Joe Hughett, Carlie Hughett, Jr. and wife, Wilda, and Jean Miller and husband, Jerome, all of Robbins, Mary Terry and husband, Daryl, and Nora Chubb and husband, Steve, all of Oneida, Carol Williams and husband, Otis, Ralph Hughett, and Johnny Hughett and wife, Karen, all of Ind., Barbara Fuller of Helenwood, and Danny Hughett and wife, Barbara, of Georgia; 28 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three sisters: Judy Simpson, Dallas Newport, and Elsie Hamby; three brothers: Philmore, Eddie, and Billy Sexton; and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted March 21, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smithers and Rev. Guy Ainsworth officiating. Music was provided by the Brandon Hughett Family and Robbins First Baptist Church Youth Choir. Graveside service was conducted March 22, at Newport Cemetery in Robbins.
