ZINGER, Wilfred Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital at the age of 88. Wilfred was the epitome of a true gentle man, he was a man of faith who saw everyday as a gift. He was a member of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus from its inception and together with his wife Grace managed the Hall for many years. Beloved husband of the late Grace Zinger (2007). Dear father of Dennis Zinger (the late Brenda Power, 2015) of Elora, David and Linda Zinger and Julie and Scott Marshall all of Maryhill, and the late Debbie Luft (2005). Dear father-in-law of Jim Luft. Dear grandfather of Amy Stephens (Charlie), Lisa Armstrong (Mitchell), Deanna (Randy) and Eric Zinger (Julia); Alison Zinger Bajari (Szabolcs) and Jeremy Zinger (Raj); Alyssa and Brooke Marshall, Jessica (David), Jacob (Candace), Zachary and Alex Luft and step-grandfather of Caitlin Sweeting (Steve), Sean Leahy (Jenn) and Ryan Leahy. Great-grandfather of Zoe, Fiona, Shea, Isabella, Emma, Adam, Callum, Audrey and Brenna. Wifred will be missed and remembered by his sister Mary Kraehn. Predeceased by his parents William and Eva (nee Ellig) Zinger, brother Edward and twin brother Alfred, sister Madeline Dietrich and Margaret Rau. Wilfred's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Boniface Church, Maryhill. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill followed by a reception at the Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club, 5700 Wellington Rd 86, Ariss. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Waterloo Regional Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
