She was born in Dalton, OH on April 24, 1923, the daughter of Joseph L. and Mary (Wenger) Ressler. She was united in marriage to Evan L. Taylor on March 16, 1946, in North Lawrence. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2009.
Evelyn was previously employed in the cafeteria at Dalton Schools, a clerk at Buehler’s in Orrville, and was the former co-owner of Daylight Donuts in Orrville.
Evelyn was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church in North Lawrence. She enjoyed sending cards to people, and especially enjoyed her family. Evelyn brought joy to everyone she met.
She is survived by four sons, Jay (Teresa) Taylor of New York City, Dorin Taylor of Massillon, Roger (Betty) Taylor of Belize, Central America, and Edwin (Joyce) Taylor of Kidron; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ellis Ressler of Orrville; and a sister, Dorcas Ross of Orrville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Earl Ressler, and sisters, Mable Burkhart, Retha Kauffman, Inez Brubaker, Edna Brubaker, Mary Ressler, and Marjorie Kotva.
Services will be held at Pleasant View Mennonite Church in North Lawrence on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Earl Brubaker and Rocky Carr officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
