Retha Kaufman
Retha R. Kaufman, 82, of Orrville, died Thursday, March 31, at Wooster Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Services were held Saturday, April 2, at the First Baptist Church in Massillon. The Revs. Kenneth Killian and William Burns officiated. Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Arrangements were handled by Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon.
She was born in 1912 in Wakarusa, Ind., to Joseph and Mary Wenger and married Emanuel S. Killian. He died previously. She then married Howard E. Kaufman. He survives.
She had made her home in Dalton most of her life and had worked at Dalton Pottery, before retiring from the food service department at Apple Creek Developmental Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Massillon for over 50 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Mrs. Clair (Vivian) Santmyer of Orrville, Mrs. Cecil (Patricia) Archer of Dalton, the Rev. Kenneth Killian of Berghill and Dwight Killian of Lexington; four stepchildren, Lisle E. Kaufman of Sun City, Calif., William J. Kaufman of Orrville, Majora Odenkirk of Moreland and Corrine Graf of Jefferson; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; six sisters, Mabel Burkhart and Inez Brubaker, both of Orville, Dorcas Ross of Wooster, Edna Brubaker of Sugarcreek, Evelyn Taylor of Dalton and Marjorie Kotva of Bedford; and three brothers, Paul and Earl Ressler both of Dalton and Ellis Ressler of North Lawrence.
In addition to her first husband, one sister, Mary Ressler and one grandson died previously.
