According to the 1900 census, Verda, her parents & siblings lived at Marrowbone, Pike County, KY; in 1910 they lived at Forks, Pike County, KY; 1920 Coal River, Pike county, KY. At age 19 Verda was a teacher.
By 1930, Verda is married to Burton Benjamin Jones, my grandfather ( 1901-1983). Memorial #123744770
And they have a family of 4 daughters and 1 son.
I never met my grandmother Verda & her children were young when she died but they had fond memories of her. She died May 3, 1934 at age 36. Her headstone has an incorrect birthdate of 1889. Someone reversed the date from 1898 to 1889. Using her birthdate from her death certificate and census records, her date of birth appears to be 1898.
