John Randolph Begley (Randy) passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born September 26, 1939 to Carl Begley and Sarah Hines in Norton, VA. He retired from the Newport News shipyard after 38 years and was a member of the Williamsburg Club where he golfed for 50 years with his friends, something he dearly loved. During retirement he loved spending time with his children and taking his great-grandchildren out to lunch once a week. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his loving wife Cherrie Begley; daughters, Kim Lawrence and Deborah Mast, her husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Bobby, Becky, her husband Robbie, Shelley, her husband Dustin; great-grandchildren, Madi, Logan, Ben and Ryan, along with countless friends. Visitation will be at Nelson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 1-2pm, followed by a graveside service by Rev. Stephen Wiley at 2:30pm at Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg; www.williamsburghospice.org. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.nelsencares.com.
