James A. Egan, 90, Willard, formerly of Kaukauna, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at his home in Willard. It was James’ wishes to be cremated and buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna. A gathering will take place from 1-4 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Arlene’s Inn, N8631 County Road G, Willard.
Jim was born on June 10, 1926, in Kaukauna, the son of George and Elizabeth (nee Ludke) Egan. He was employed as a police officer (lieutenant) by the city of Kaukauna for more than 30 years. On Dec. 3, 1955, Jim married Arlene Hendrickson at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. After retirement he and Arlene owned and operated Arlene’s Inn in Willard.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; his six children: Barb Egan of Kaukauna, Lynn Egan of Appleton, George (Janie) Egan of Ogdensburg, Diane (Tom) Simon of Combined Locks, James Egan of Ogdensburg, and Liz Egan of Hilbert; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Arlene Egan of Kaukauna; his wife’s brother, Archie (Marlene) Hendrickson of Greenwood; a sister, Faye (Larry) Lange of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Betty Hendrickson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and a sister-in-law: George Jr., Charles (Lorreen), and William; and one sister, Marion Egan.
