Arlene E. Egan, (nee Hendrickson), formerly of Kaukauna, age 85, died peacefully on Sunday April 30, 2017 at Century Oaks. She was born on January 25, 1932 in Loyal, WI, daughter of the late Art and Ila (Salzwedel) Hendrickson. On December 3, 1955 Arlene married James Egan, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She loved gardening, socializing, trips with her sister Opal, and running her bar (Arlene’s Inn) in Willard, WI. Arlene worked in food services for many years, ending that career as a hostess at Mark’s East Side. She was also a Kaukauna High School lunch lady and study hall supervisor. Arlene then went to college and received a degree in insurance and operated the Egan Insurance Agency. After retiring to Willard, WI, she owned and operated Arlene’s Inn fulfilling a lifelong dream.

She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: George (Janie) Egan, Ogdensburg and James Egan, Ogdensburg; 4 daughters and a son-in-law: Barb Egan, Kaukauna, Lynn Egan, Appleton, Diane (Tom) Simon, Combined Locks, and Liz Egan (special friend Tim), Hilbert; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Archie (Marlene) Hendrickson, Greenwood; 1 sister, Faye (Larry) Lange, Spencer; sister-in-law, Betty Hendrickson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim, 4 brothers: Rodney, Orville, Henry and Jimmie Lee and a sister, Opal.

It was Arlene’s wishes to be cremated and buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna. A gathering will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Arlene’s Inn, N8631 County Road G, Willard, WI 54493, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
