Phil E. Ackley, age 83, died Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, Ralph Ackley, in Albany.

Phil Eugene Ackley, son of Martin A. and Helen Amelia Nobel Ackley, was born May 29, 1875, at Lamar, Kan., and departed this life Mar. 23, 1958 at his home at Albany. His entire life was spent in Kansas and Missouri.

He joined the Reorganized church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints in his early life. he was a true and faithful member up to his departure.

He was united in marriage to Cora Mae Birk, Dec. 31, 1896, at Allendale, Mo., who preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 1950. Born to this union were three sons and one daughter.

He is survived by two other sons, Arlie Ackley, Elma, Wash.; Dale Ackley, McCleary, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Cree, of St. Joseph; one sister,Mrs.D S. McClure, Gallatin; and two brothers, Ray Ackley, Elma, Wash., and Virgil Ackley of Charleston, Ark.

Besides his children, brothers and sisters, he is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Allendale Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Elder James A. Thomas officiated. Burial was at Allendale cemetery under the direction of the Brooks Funeral home.
