Funeral Friday for Glenn Taylor

Glenn Taylor, 68, long-time Shackelford County rancher, died at 6:45 Wednesday morning in Hendrick Memorial Hospital at Abilene. Mr. Taylor underwent surgery Tuesday.
Funeral will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon in the First Baptist Church of Albany, with the pastor, Rev. Marion E. Kirchner, officiating.
Burial will be in the Albany cemetery under direction of Melton Funeral Home of Breckenridge.
The body will lie in state at Melton Funeral Home until it is brought to the First Baptist Church here at 1:00 Friday afternoon, where the casket will remain open until time for the funeral service.
Mr. Taylor was born March 1, 1896, in Denton County, and came to the Newcomb community east of Albany with his parents at the age of 2. He was reared there and ranched in Shackelford county until he moved to his ranch west of Breckenridge, on Highway 180, in 1946, where he and Mrs. Taylor have resided since.
He was married to Elizabeth Crocker in Waco in 1920.
He was a member of the Baptist Church, having been ordained a deacon in the Newcomb Baptist Church when a young man. He was a member of the Baptist Church here for many years.
Mr. Taylor was a veteran of World War I. He belonged to the American Legion and the World War I Barracks. He was also a member of the Cattlemen's Association.
Surviving are his wife: one son, Glenn Taylor, Jr., of Breckenridge; and a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Ramsay of Weirton, West Va.
