My Sweet Boy, Timmi the Timid passed this December 2016.

I heard a faint 'mew'. It was coming from under my work building. Peeking under the 6" opening, I saw a little, very little kitten. "Mew Meow". As if he was speaking English, I could tell what the kitten was saying. "I'm scared. I am alone and afraid."

I put a bowl of water & one of food just under the building. I hoped the kitten's mother cat would come back for him. She didn't.

My capture cage was set with food, trap open. Arriving at work the next day, I found the food had been eaten but the kitten was too small to trip the trap. This continued every day for 3 weeks.

It was lightly raining the Sunday morning in December when I started the car for the 22 mile drive to check on the trap & kitten. Finally!! There he was, snug in the capture cage, which I had wrapped with beach towels and plastic to keep the kitten warm & dry.

Timmi the Timid. Yes, a fitting name. Timmi was afraid of people and he never outgrew it. He loved & trusted only me. He was sweet, loved to play and loved to be held like a baby as I sang to him. It would become our nightly ritual.

In August 2008 I rescued another kitten, this one having been stuck in a crack in a road. I reached down to be certain she was alive to find her bright blue eyes looking at me, pleading to be helped. Timmi had a sister: Dusty!

Timmi was immediately smitten with his little sister Dusty & she with him. She followed Timmi everywhere. He played with her, groomed her, slept with her and loved her. They were a bonded pair. To their final day together, they ate together, slept together and always were within touching distance of each other.

I held Timmi in my arms, rocking him and singing his favorite song. I couldn't kiss him enough. Being the gentleman he is, Timmi never complained. He enjoyed being babied and always welcomed hugs & kisses.

Timmi waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge. I will join him on the day God has set aside for my animal family and I to reunite. Until then, I keep the memories and love of Timmi the Timid in my Heart.
