Mona Trent Bryan Miller, age 84, of Brandenburg, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 in Radcliff, KY.

Born December 6, 1932, she was the only daughter of nine children born to the late Loran and Bessie Trent of the Weldon area. Her husband of 36 years, James F. “Jim” Miller; her first husband, Robert Earl Bryan; and four brothers: Buddy, James, Bobbie, and Laverne “Dickie” Trent also preceded her in death.

Mona belonged to the Christian Church all her life, first to Weldon Christian and then to Lincoln Trail Christian Church in Irvington, KY since 1982. She taught Sunday school and Bible School for many years. Mona graduated 3rd in her class from Meade County High School in 1951. She was employed by Meade County RECC for 12 years, and worked for the Meade County Board of Education for 9 years as secretary at Ekron and Flaherty Elementary Schools. She retired in 1994.

She was an active member of the Meade County Homemakers since 1970, and served as county president from 1978-1980. She held all county and clerk offices during her time served on the Area Council and Extension Board. She was a lifetime member of the J.R. Dink Chapter 347 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Kentucky Colonel.
Mona was an avid reader all her life and a devoted University of Louisville Cardinal fan.

She is survived by her children: two daughters, Melanie (Joe) Hager of Flaherty and Karen (Joe) Clements of Brandenburg; and son, James Miller of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren: Bryan (Kathy) Robinson of Floyds Knobs, IN; Justin Yates of Jackson, MS; Courtney Clements and Cody (Tiffany) Clements both of Brandenburg; four brothers, Carl Trent of Clarksville, IN; Lonnie (Dorothy) Trent of Waddy, KY; Alton (Bessie) Trent of Brandenburg; and Roy (Janette) Trent of Brandenburg; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM EST at the Lincoln Trail Christian Church in Irvington, KY with burial to follow in the Weldon Christian Church cemetery in Brandenburg.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 12:00 – 8:00 PM EST from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home and Saturday, February 11 after 9:00 AM at Lincoln Trail Christian Church.
