Bessie Marie Trent, 85, of Brandenburg, died Friday, Nov. 23, at her residence. Born March 11, 1905 in Meade County, she was the daughter of the late William Bled Wardrip and Anna Mae Harrington Wardrip.

Mrs. Trent was preceded in death by her husband, Loran C. Trent on Dec. 22, 1976, and two sons, James H. Trent, Dec. 16, 1972, and Harold Andrew Trent in 1934.

She is survived by seven children, Mrs. James F. (Mona) Miller, Lavern C. "Dickie" Trent, Brandenburg, Carl W. Trent, Clarksville, Ind., Bobbie P. Trent, Vine Grove, Alton E. Trent, Brandenburg, Lonnie H. Trent, Frankfort and Roy Lee Trent, Brandenburg; a sister, Lena Powell, Ekron; 24 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, from Weldon Christian Church with Rev. Gary True and Rev. Elmer Wheatley officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery with Jenkins Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Howard Wardrip, Milton Trent, Rick Yates, Joe Clements, Eddie Bennett and Terry Trent.
