BOBBIE P. TRENT, 70, Brandenburg, died June 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Meade County on April 20,1935, the son of the late Loren Trent and Bessie Wardrip Trent.

He was retired from the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received the Korean Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, retired from civil servce at Fort Knox, and was a member of the Weldon Christian Church and the Meade-Breck Bass Club. He was also an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren Cecil Trent and Bessie Wardrip Trent and two brothers, James H. Trent and Buddy Trent.

Mr. Trent is survived by his wife, Brenda A. Trent; six children, Bobbie Trent Jr., Eva Lindsey and Tracy Kelly, both of Louisville, Lisa Jenkins, Battletown, and Doug Chism and Richie Chism, both of Brandenburg; a sister, Mona Miller, Brandenburg; five brothers, Roy Trent, Dick Trent and Alton "Curly" Trent, all of Brandenburg, Carl Trent, Indiana, and Lonnie Trent, Waddy; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held June 15 from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev. William "Happy" Chandler officiating. Burial was in Weldon Christian Church Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers were Dale Melton, Tommy Giles, J.W. Hendrickson, Scott Trent, Micah Trent and Bryan Robinson.
