Verna Lorraine (Vergin) Lemmage, of Parkview Care Center, formally of Rockford, was 90 years of age when she went to her heavenly Father on Friday, February 3, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura A.(Rux) Vergin and Gustav Carl Vergin; loving husband, Ken; and son, Kenny B. Lemmage; sisters, Viola Lange, Eleanore Vergin, Alice Sieloff, Edna Loeffler, Erna Lieder; brothers, Adolph, Edwin and Ervin.

Being the youngest of nine children, she earned the nickname of "Babe". She was a 1944 graduate from Rockford High School. Verna married Kenneth D. Lemmage, a high school sweetheart on May 7, 1947 by Rev. Samuel Baer at Cross Lutheran; they were blessed with three sons. They resided in Rockford Township until 1950 when Ken was recalled into the Army Air Force. They then lived in San Antonio, TX. Returning to MN, she spent the rest of her life in Rockford. Her interests were in many different areas including working in the school library, Rockford city clerk/treasurer, and doing housework. Verna was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, enjoying her cherished family immensely.
