Kenneth Brian (Kenny) Lemmage, age 68, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will take place Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church, prior to the celebration. A private inurnment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Kenny was born July 17, 1948, at the Monticello Hospital, to Kenneth D. and Verna (Vergin) Lemmage.
He was a lifetime resident of Rockford, and had attended Rockford Public School, graduating in 1966.
In high school, Kenny was active in football, basketball, baseball, and National Honor Society.
He furthered his education at Moler Barber School, and opened a shop in Delano.
Kenny married Deborah Dahl May 2, 1970, in Rockford, where they made their home. Kenny and Deb were blessed with three children, and Kenny was a loving husband, great dad, and super grandpa.
Kenny was employed with Schumacher Meats, where he worked for 30 years, repairing anything that he was asked to do. He was a big car enthusiast and enjoyed working on them and helping others with their mechanical problems, but he was just an average fisherman.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth D. Lemmage; father-in-law Arnold M. Dahl; and his favorite dog, Riesa.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deb; children Cami (Chad) Stivers, Matt Lemmage and Zack Lemmage; grandchildren Samantha Stivers and Katherine Lemmage; mother Verna Lemmage; brothers Tom (Jan) Lemmage and Barry (Cindy) Lemmage; and mother-in-law Renate (Lehrke) Dahl; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
