Ely Bedgood was the son of John Bedgood Sr. of Washington, County, Georgia. His mother's identity has not been documented. He migrated to Jackson Co., FL ca. 1821 where he lived until 1850 when he moved to Dale Co., AL. From Alabama he moved to Hancock Co., MS where he died. His exact year of death is unknown but is between 1864 - 1869, grave is unmarked.
