Early Life: Ilene was born June 27, 1927, in Brigham City, Utah, to Melvin Christian and Monta Perkins Jensen. She was raised in the small town of Mantua, Utah, and had the wonderful opportunity to live with her grandparents, aunts and uncles throughout her life. She attended school in Mantua and had the unique opportunity to attend four different high schools in four different cities. She called this a very wonderful and rewarding period in her life. The final high school, Granite High in Salt lake City, proved to be a true blessing as this is where she graduated but also met the love of her life and her eternal companion.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: She spent her freshman year at the University of Utah and then attended a business school in Portland, Oregon. Ilene and Vernon G. Brady married on April 14, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They built a beautiful home in the East Mill Creek area and Ilene lived there in contentment until her passing. She was the ultimate caregiver and her concern for others, especially children, was always at the forefront of her mind. She had a deep and abiding love for her family and friends as well as a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She gave many hours of service and shared her many talents with those she cared for. Even in her final hours, her only thought was the well-being of all those around her. She expressed her desire for everyone to continue to love one another and she was assured her wishes would be fulfilled. Ilene Jensen Brady, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Survived By: Her four children: Susan (Steve) Palmer, Karen (Bob) Hoffman, Kent (Cathy, fiancee) Brady, Tonyia Jensen Clark (daughter-in law) and Mary-Lyn (Richard) Kunz; 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; siblings: Pauline (Walker) Halliday, Dee (Joyce) Jensen, Karma (Gary) Dabel, and Linda (Tim) Garrard.
