Mr. Dave Wesley Johnson, Sr., age 91, of Vidalia, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Appling County and graduated from Appling County High School, lived in Augusta for twenty-five years, and has lived in Vidalia since 1979. He retired from American National Insurance Company in 1989 as a District Manager. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member of Vidalia Kiwanis Club, and Past President of Optimist Club. His favorite pastimes were the beach, fishing, crabbing, gardening, and boating.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Luquire Johnson; second wife, Flora Harris; son-in-law, Ralph Harmon; stepson, Scott Harris; two great-grandsons, Cannon L. Miller and Dave Wesley Johnson III; and nine brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor B.L. Horne officiating. Burial follow at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta at 3:30 following the service.
