Gary Allen Duke, 48, Kansas City, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at his sister's residence. Gary was born November 26, 1956, in Kansas City, to Edgar Allen and Doris (Braden) Duke. He was a delivery driver for UPS for more than 25 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 41 and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar, in 1987. Gary is survived by his mother, Doris Duke of Independence, Mo.; a sister, Brenda Sellmeyer, Kansas City; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be noon Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5608 Norfleet, Kansas City. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, (816) 353-1218. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Brain tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Suite 146, Des Plaines, Ill. 66018.
