Mrs. Marjorie Taylor Sutton, 92 of Metter, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Candler County Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Marjorie was born on August 30, 1924, to Charles and Edna Taylor. She was a faithful member of Metter First Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and has been described by her family to be a great cook. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, baking and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Sutton is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Sutton; brothers, Colan, Jack and Robert Taylor; a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Sutton; and son-in-law, Louis Holland.
She is survived by sons, Billy Earl (LaRuth) Sutton of Metter, GA and Charles Sutton of Eutawville, S.C.; daughters, Sue Holland of Cobbtown, GA and Becky (Jerry) Paige of Metter, Ga.; sister, Eliose Cowart of Metter/Atlanta, GA; roommate at Azalea Nursing Home, Annette “Grandma” Bazemore; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Metter First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Osborn officiating, Mrs. Sutton will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that remembrances be made to Alzheimers Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
