FUNERAL SERVICES FOR W. C. ALLEN Funeral services for
Wesley C. Allen, 92, were held at the Phillips Funeral Home Monday afternoon, April 30, 1956. Rev. M. A. Younger conducted the service and burial was made in the Eldon Cemetery. Mr. Allen died Saturday evening, April 28, at the home of his son, George Allen, 414 West Court St. in Eldon. He had been in failing health and had been at the home of his son for the past two years. Wesley Corbin Allen, son of Nathan and Caroline Bond Allen, was born January 11, 1864, near Gravois Mills, Mo.
On April 6, 1888, he was married to Alice Adeline Pace and to them seven children were born. Two of them, William and Elizabeth, preceded him in death. His wife died Feb. 5, 1954.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters; George Allen of Eldon, Mrs. Delia McGraw of Independence, Mo., Mrs. Josephine Hibdon of Versailles, Mo., Claude and John H. Allen of Kansas City, Mo.; fourteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Doll Allen, of Versailles, Mo., and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Sousley of Gravois Mills, Mo. and Mrs. Sally Lanham of Kansas City, Mo. When a young man, Mr. Allen became a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Morgan County.
