Cooper Service Is Held Monday
Prominent Sauk Centre Man Buried After M.E. Rites In Church

Funeral services were held at 2:00 oclock Monday from the Sauk Centre Methodist church, Rev. J.D. Butler, reading the services, for the late Charles H. Cooper, 75, who died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Welch of Sauk Centre.

Mr. Cooper was born September 24, 1857 at Shakopee, Minn., the son of Josiah and Harriet Cooper. In early youth he moved with his parents to a farm about two miles northeast of Westport, and spent the greater part of his life in that community.

On May 14, 1883, he married Loretta[sic] Higgison at Fergus Falls, Minn. There were five children, one of whom Charles, died in 1914. Mrs. Cooper died July 5, 1930.

Mr. Cooper is survived by four children who are, Mrs. Fred Newman, Delta, Colorado; Mrs. Edna Clark, Fargo, N.D., Fred Cooper, Westport; and Mrs. Herman Welch, Sauk Centre. There is also one brother, J.F. Cooper, Sauk Centre, and three sisters: Mrs. Jane Vessey, Mrs. Kate Gilman, and Mrs. Frank Parker, all of Sauk Centre. Three grandchildren also remain.
