March, 1771, at Newington, a parish of Wethersfield, Conn., by Rev.
Joshua Belden, pastor of the Congregational Church there. He had a
portion of liis father's estate by his will, made 18th June, 1806, and the
estate distributed in 1810. He was a fine specimen of " manhood," being
well made, with noble bearing and address, and withal a fine countenance.
He enlisted into the standing army of the Uniied Slates as a soldier, and
died near Lake Champlain, aged 26 years. He held an otfice in the army,
and was guard, previous to this, at Newgate Prison. He is said to have
been crossed in love.
